Berlin-based composer, arranger and saxophonist Fabia Mantwill draw inspiration from both cultural and intimate space. Her soulful compositions and playing are characterized by strong melody, lyricism and rhythmical elements. Traveling through Africa, South America, Asia and Europe in the past ten years, Fabia’s work as bandleader and composer bridges several distinct musical worlds from jazz to folk to classical. On her 'breathtaking, epic debut album' (New York Music Daily) entitled EM.PERIENCE, the 28-year old bandleader experimented with a variety of voices, sounds, harmonies and instruments which made the record emerge in its brilliant holistic nature. It features world renowned guest soloists Kurt Rosenwinkel, Ben Wendel and Nils Landgren. Fabia Mantwill was awarded the German Jazz Prize 2021 and has worked with Vince Mendoza, Kurt Elling, Becca Stevens, the Metropole Orkest, the National Scottish Jazz Orchestra and the Equilibrium Orchestra in Minsk, to name a few.
